My Friend,
Thank you for whatever you
can do to help finance this campaign.
Jane Harman spent $2M to
first win her seat in Congress.
She spent $16M to earn 20% of the primary vote when she ran for
Governor in 1998. The Daily Breeze claims she is the
richest Representative in Congress1 and that she’s a
champion at raising special interest money. 2
It’s a good thing for me
that my strategy is not based on out-spending my opponent.
But as my son has
learned in his Political Science class at El Camino, you need two
things to win in politics: votes and the resources to win votes.
Thank you for your
interest in providing some of those needed resources.
You have my assurance
that I will exercise the utmost in fiscal responsibility in handling
the funds invested this campaign.
In other words, I’ll be a real cheapskate making every dollar
count. I want to make my
campaign an example for the Federal government.
We won’t outspend
Representative Harman, but with wise stewardship and your help we will
outpoll her.
Thank you,
